Benoit Richaud went to St.Petersburg, Russia to choreograph programs for the skaters from Alexei Mishin’s group.
Renowned figure skating coach Alexei Mishin revealed that French choreographer Benoît Richaud has created the free program for the 2023 Russian men’s singles champion, Evgeni Semenenko, for the upcoming season.
Alexei Mishin: This season, I invited my good friend Benoît Richaud to St. Petersburg, whose creative career began many years ago in collaboration with me and my students. I must say that the style of this choreographer is quite extraordinary, which has made him one of the best ice choreographers of our time. I remember his first steps, choreographing for Liza (referring to Elizaveta Tuktamysheva), Andrei Lazukin, and other students. It is fair to note that Benoît, or as I affectionately call him, Benya, is constantly evolving. And when it comes to his mastery of gliding and expressiveness as a skater, it is astonishing.
I was delighted to collaborate with him once again, and the same goes for Evgeni Semenenko, who received the free program from him. Through an old friendship, Roman Khamzin and Agata Petrova were fortunate to receive short programs from the master with a global reputation.
